About RhondaRhonda Holt is a former Graduate Research Assistant at the Schusterman library in Tulsa, OK. As a former elementary teacher, she sought to pursue her MLIS degree to expand her knowledge and application of information systems. Currently, she is working as an Instructional Technology Support Specialist in the Online Learning department of Tulsa Community College.
While a Research Assistant at the Schusterman Library, she gained expertise and experience working with numerous databases. She found the specialty of medical information fascinating while becoming familiar with Ovid and PubMed databases. She enjoyed learning the complex hierarchy of MeSH controlled vocabulary as well as various techniques involved in retrieving sufficient information. Her passion and love for people kept her volunteering with Ruth Neal at the Morningcrest Medical Library to assist with several health fairs by providing medical information and live demonstrations. Keeping in touch with her passion for literacy and early education, she volunteered in her former colleagues' classrooms conducting small-group tutoring sessions, grant-writing, and completing various tasks to support weekly needs. Rhonda would like to find gainful employment working for an academic public school library and/or a local non-profit directly serving the informational needs of community members. Outside of class, Rhonda enjoys being outdoors, painting, and playing music. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, toddler, and two fur babies. |
